Guest podcast appearances
Occasionally, I spend time in great discussions with other friends with their own platforms and online followings. I encourage you to review each of them, preferably while eating pie.
I always love to get to do podcasts with my heroes. Mike is one of them. He has deeply interesting and passionate God-thoughts. He’s a really good thinker and articulates his theology in interviews, podcasts, blogs, books and incredible songs. He was for decades the front man for a delightful band Tenth Avenue North. He is a friend, who wrote the forward to On My Worst Day. I think you’ll like his challenging questions and the directions it takes us. Enjoy.
Jon and Nat Turney have become dear young friends of mine. They are rethinking so much of what we experience as church for the sake of the Church. I hope you enjoy our conversation.
What a privilege to be invited into the Enneagram community with Jeff and Beth McCord and my new friend Adam. We discuss overlaying the power and life of our identity in Jesus into the discussion of the particular enneagram numbers.
Wayne Jacobsen is a dear friend and one of the most cogent thinkers on receiving and experiencing the love of God. We had a magnificent time together!
Sovann Pen is such a delightful friend and deeply respected counselor. He also is an exceptional interviewer. I hope you deeply enjoy our conversation!
TRANSFORMING DISCIPLESHIP, WHEN THE MASKS COME OFF
What a privilege to be on Christianity Today with Oliver Hersey and Kelsey Bowse! I got to speak about the gift of authentic leaders. They have the unique ability to transform a community into a life-giving gift to all around them. Oliver is an excellent interviewer. We really covered some important ground. I think you'll like this one a lot.
Love is Fearless, with Janet and Doug Newberry
Janet and Doug Newberry are a fascinating, winsome, and deeply intentional couple. Few write on grace in education as she does. She’s written a book on it. Doug would be one of my best friends if we lived in the same town. We walked through relational permission and how a community can learn to have an environment of grace. They tell me it is their most listened-to podcast. Who am I to argue with them?
Life Builders, with Julie Hamilton
Julie Hamilton is a delightful podcaster, with fascinating guests. I’ve been on her show several times. In this particular episode, we talked about everything from grieving, to when maybe you’ve lost a little confidence that this way of life makes sense anymore. It’s all very hopeful (even though that last sentence didn’t sell that thought very well).
Project Pastor
Troy McGlaughlin and I have done a few podcasts together. A couple of times a year he makes contact. He has become my friend. He asks really great questions and gives his guests room to answer. I have no memory of what we talked about. But I remember wanting to make sure it got posted on my pages. So, I think it might have been good.
The 95 podcast: The Power of vulnerable leadership
The 95 Podcast caught me off-guard. These guys put on an excellent show for pastors of smaller churches. My content of grace, identity, and creating a community of safety, trust, authenticity, and love was a profound gift to them. I must get back on their show. I used to go on radio shows with hosts who weren’t crazy about what I was teaching. As I get older, I try not to do that as often.
HEaling moments with Martha
Martha Flowers makes you feel like you are one of her favorite people on the block. Even if you have just stolen her silverware. In this episode, we went pretty deep into my story of abuse and healing from it. She was courageous in drawing it out of me.
Undone/Redone Podcast
Traylor and Melody have been courageously giving practical care and resources, especially to those with addiction issues. They are honest and without masks. They were with me and others in the movie, The Heart of Man.
